Mick Foley As Bret Easton Ellis
This is a comparison that I thought I'd never see. From the official site for Mick Foley's new book Tietam Brown:I think you will enjoy "Tietam Brown," althoughIn case the name doesn't ring a bell with you, Mick Foley is a retired (mostly) WWF/E wrestler who's written two previous bestsellers - both autobiographical. I can see where he's be demented enough to cover subjects similar to BEE - the writing quality is sure to suffer in comparison, but hey - he's Mick Foley.the tone might seem a little darker than you might think, coming off the pen of the jovial commissioner. Critics have called it "disturbing" and "sickening," but they've never called it boring. It has been hailed by one critic as "a strange mix of J.D. Salinger's 'Catcher in the Rye,' and Bret Easton Ellis' 'American Psycho.'" Anyway, I think you'll like it, and find it touching and uplifting … in a disturbing, sickening kind of way.

Bret Easton Ellis' New Book - Blood Alley
Not really, but if you believed everything you read in newsgroups thats what you'd think. Here's the fake article in its entirety:LONDON (AFP) - American novelist Bret Easton Ellis, author of American Psycho, said he was moved to tears as he killed off one of his key characters in his latest book "Blood Alley", due to go on sale Saturday. This was originally posted to the newsgroup alt.religion.kibology.
In an interview for BBC television to be broadcast Thursday, Easton Ellis, 39, told how his cleaner Elaine Tubby found him in tears at his home after he had sealed the fate of the unnamed character. The character's identity will be revealed this Saturday when the eagerly-awaited book hits the shops.
"I had re-written the death, re-written it and that was it. And the person was definitely dead," Easton Ellis told BBC's Newsnight programme. "Then I killed off several more. In fact, pretty much all the characters die horrible, depressing deaths" Easton Ellis added. "Maybe we should talk about the survivors?".
Easton Ellis said that his cleaner -- also unaware of the identity of the doomed character, plus all of the others -- had suggested that he should not kill off the character if it made him that upset. "I'm not upset about the book; I've just struck the desk with my knee," Easton Ellis told his cleaner at the time.
Easton Ellis said he had "sweated blood" to write the 766-page tome but vehemently denied reports he had delivered the book late after suffering writer's block. "When I say "sweated blood", I mean there was just a lot of blood in the book," Easton Ellis said. "Blood is cool."

The Black Table Calls Ellis 'Stale'
The Black Table has an interview with Maer Roshan, the editor-in-chief of Radar Magazine (where Ellis writes DVD reviews). There is one question that refers to Bret Easton Ellis' contribution to the mag, and it isn't pleasant:You are a startup magazine, with the budgetary restraints that inevitably come with that, yet you're still running tried-and-true, easy-cash-for-little-effort, "name" writers like Anthony Haden-Guest, Candace Bushnell and Bret Easton Ellis, who, frankly, was already stale when he was flopping around at Gear three years ago.I never saw any of Ellis' work from Gear Magazine, but from what I understand, he was a film critic for them. Much like his current role for Radar, this seems to be a horrible waste of his talents. Perhaps Ellis feels stale in magazines because he is so limited by whats being asked of him.

American Psycho Website Is Gone
It appears that the official website for the American Psycho movie has been 'reclaimed' for use Universal Pictures. The only remaining official site (I'm pretty sure) would be the home video page that Universal set up for the DVD release.LINK

Ellis' Work At Radar Magazine
Just gleaned a bit more information about the Bret Easton Ellis' previously mentioned new writing gig for Radar Magazine. According to Radar Mag's online Table of Contents, Ellis' contribution to the magazine consists of a monthly DVD review column entitled Remote Control.I'm sure its not just me that'll find that bit of news to be disappointing. Perhaps it was all Ellis wanted to contribute, but writing DVD reviews seems rather a waste of his considerable talents.
