Bret Easton Ellis Adapting 'Normal Girl' For Film

I missed this one when it was originally reported (thanks to Rachel for the tip), but apparently in addition to working on his next novel, Ellis is also adapting Molly Jong-Fast's 'Normal Girl'(buy from Amazon) for a movie (follow the link, 5th item). This ought to be interesting since Ellis hasn't ever been allowed to write a screenplay for one of his own adapted novels, and Molly Jong-Fast is often compared him.

Hmmm... as interesting as this might be, I really was NOT impressed by "Normal Girl". I've read it quite a few times, and I've read Ellis' stuff dozens of times, and there's no comparison: Normal Girl tries SO HARD to be everything he is.

I really find it to be an over-indulgent psudo-contraversial book... just not good at all...
