Lunar Park Tour Hits Spain
There is a brief mention that Bret is currently Madrid doing publicity in support of Lunar Park. I thought he was finished with the Euro tour by now.UPDATE: Some great info from the comments section on Ellis' tour of Europe.
Johannes has posted a description of Bret's recent reading in Munich, and Philipp has added a summary of BEE's visit to Zurich.

No, he hasn't finishes his Euro tour yet. He is going to read in Leipzig/Germany on Saturday 18th and as far as I know there is one other reading on Sunday in Germany.

Mr. Ellis stopped by in Munich on March 17th where he read excerpts from "Lunar Park" at the university main building. The moderator who basically came across like a total moron asked him some insipid questions and Mr. Ellis started answering at two occasions, only to interrupt himself and go "What was the question again?" which earned good laughs from the audience (the house was packed, by the way). When the Double M (Moronic Moderator) asked him if he stopped feeling like a son after his father had died, Ellis said that he didn't feel like a son to his father most of his life. Another question was if he regretted becoming an author instead of a rock star. Mr. Ellis said he didn't regret it and mentioned that he actually played guitar, bass and keyboard in three different bands during his college days, however added that he was bad at it. He said that his last band broke up after "Less Than Zero" had been published and he had earned some acclaim as an author. In the end, The Double M asked Mr. Ellis if he was in contact with Stephen King as "Lunar Park" is a hommage to the latter. Mr. Ellis then told a hilarious story, which started with him buying an issue of "Entertainment Weekly" at the airport. On the two-hour flight, he read through every single page of dumb celebrity gossip while having Bloody Maries. Then he came to the last page and there was a review of "Lunar Park" by Stephen King. Ellis said that King never liked his work but the review was very positive. So positive, in fact, that he started crying, which had never happened before after reading a review of one of his books. However, his crying started to disturb the other passengers so he was asked to stop. Mr. Ellis, with a smile, added that he had had about four Bloody Maries by then. He also mentioned that King's children had always liked his work so he credited himself with making the Kings one happy family. Mr. Ellis told the whole story in a hilarious way so there were many laughs and cheers from the crowd. All in all, a very pleasant appearance by my very favorite author.

He was in Zurich yesterday to finish the tour. Again, the moderator wasn't really, well... Let's put it this way: I hope she doesn't make a living by interviewing authors.
Anyway, it was an interesting evening. BEE seemed actually very nice and funny. Especially when he asked the moderator to pose a question again you knew he tought of something amusing to say.
All in all, positively surprised. Nice to see and hear him in person.

The man with the beard is Christian Ulmen, an actor who read excerpts from the German translation of "Lunar Park".
