I assume that one of the reasons for the very different cover from the US version is that the moon on the US version is from a Random House book, so some of these foreign publishing houses may not have the rights to use it.

That doesn't explain why gold lips is used as a substitute though.

And the translation sucks so profoundly! The first line is about doing an impression OF Bret, not about making an impression ON Bret. And people are afraid to merge, they are not afraid of "relationships on LA's highways" (yep, that is how it is in this cheesy polish tranlation, and it gets worse). The book is totally trashed and doesn't even sound like Ellis.

i hate the polish translation - and i only read american psycho not in original, the rest i have in english (the british versions). now i have only polish version of lunar park and i get confused sometimes reading it. cannot wait to get the english one. but, anyways, the "rules of attraction" translation of a title is just horrible - i'm thinking of e-mailing the guy who did it...

You should email ME first. All my friends hate Ellis. Bastards. No, seriously, email me. We should do something about this whole translation issue. Plus, I know how to make them lightbulb-bombs. outis@gazeta.pl
