well, bee is my favorite author, so i loved the movie. people were walking out, which is always a good sign.
seriously, what do people expect? imo the informers is his coldest book by far. the movie is an almost perfect reflection of that. it was exactly what i thought it would be: no real beginning, no real ending, no point to be made other than what we already know about his books: no consequences other than complete detachment and disconnectedness.
am i allowed to use two colons in one sentence? i think i am.

you guys are insane, the acting was atrocious, just fucking terrible
terrible casting as well and of course the cop out of not stabbing the kid, utter bullshit
if you are trying to capture the spirit of the informers you better fucking get the most disturbing story right

Concur with Aleksey. Just because BEE is your favorite author doesn't mean you automatically love this movie. It was fucking horrible, and also I did not view the book as overtly 'cold' and 'disturbing' I found it to be extremely funny which is how I imagined the movie would turn out...as did Bret. Not a fucking lifetime movie that gives a dire warning of what the AIDS that will happen to you if you have too much fun.

The book is funny if you enjoy laughing at suffering.
The movie IMO, was better than the book in this rare case. Totally captured the sinister-frigid quality of the books, unlike each of the other film adaptations.
