Re-Making the American Psycho Movie

I'm not sure what the purpose behind a re-make of the American Psycho movie is - but it apparently might happen (not yet greenlit according to Variety).

Noble Jones wrote the script and is also directing.

Jones pitched the project to Lionsgate several months ago and recently turned in a script that explores how Bateman would fare in modern-day Gotham.

@BretEastonEllis has a tweet about it.

I have warned Lionsgate that I will not approve a new version of "American Psycho" unless it stars SCOTT DISICK or MILES FISHER.

American Psycho: Killer Collector's Edition

I mentioned it when it was announced, but failed to note that the special edition DVD for American Psycho, the Killer Collector's Edition was finally released on June 21st. The details from Amazon still show this with an R rating, rather than the NC-17 that I would have expected from an uncut version of the film, but perhaps the R is just incorret - or the additional footage is simply not rated at all.

Thanks to James for alerting me to the June 21, 2005 release of a new version of the DVD for American Psycho called the Killer Collector's Edition. James provided some of the specs, but I grabbed the rest of these from The DVD Forums.

Lions Gate Home Entertainment has announced a Killer Collector's Edition of American Psycho which stars Christian Bale, Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto and Josh Lucas. As well as a newly remastered anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 EX track, the disc will include an audio commentary with the films director and writer, deleted scenes with an optional director audio commentary and three video essays entitled The 80's: Downtown, American Psycho: From Book to Screen and The Pornography of Killing.

American Psycho Website Is Gone

It appears that the official website for the American Psycho movie has been 'reclaimed' for use Universal Pictures. The only remaining official site (I'm pretty sure) would be the home video page that Universal set up for the DVD release.
